Day 1: Arrival in Ulaanbaatar (UB)

  • Morning: Arrival at Chinggis Khaan International Airport; transfer to your hotel.

  • Afternoon: Visit Gandan Monastery for street and architectural photography (monks in saffron robes, prayer wheels).

  • Evening: Welcome dinner and tour briefing. Prepare gear for the early flight.

  • Stay: 4-star Hotel.

Day 2: Fly to Western Mongolia (Olgii)

  • Morning: Early flight to Olgii (approx. 2.5 hours). Meet your local 4x4 team.

  • Afternoon: Drive to the Sagsai River valley to meet your host Eagle Hunter family.

  • Evening: Sunset Session: First portraits of the hunter on a ridge with his eagle as the sun sets over the Altai Mountains.

  • Stay: Nomadic family homestay (Guest Ger).

Day 3: Eagle Hunters & Private Mini-Festival

  • Sunrise: Capture the family’s morning routine—milking yaks and starting the fire in the soft morning light.

  • Mid-day: Action Photography: Follow the hunters on horseback to a nearby mountain. Witness the eagle being released from a cliff to the hunter's arm.

  • Afternoon: Mini-Festival: We arrange a private demonstration of Kyz Kuar (traditional horse racing game) and Kokpar (goat-skin tug of war) for high-speed action shots.

  • Stay: Nomadic family homestay.

Day 4: The Uriankhai Archers

  • Morning: Drive to a nearby Uriankhai ethnic community.

  • Activity: Photography of Uriankhai Archery. Unlike standard Mongolian archery, they use unique heavy bows and leather targets on the ground.

  • Afternoon: Cultural portraits of elders in traditional Uriankhai dress and a demonstration of Throat Singing (Khoomei).

  • Stay: Local Ger camp or community homestay.

Day 5: Journey to the Altai Peaks

  • Morning: Drive toward Altai Tavan Bogd National Park. The landscape shifts to rugged, snow-capped granite peaks.

  • Afternoon: Stop at Tolbo Lake. The reflection of the mountains in the high-altitude lake provides incredible landscape compositions.

  • Stay: Expedition tents or mountain Ger camp.

Day 6: The White River & Petroglyphs

  • Morning: Explore the Tsagaan Gol (White River) valley. The water is a striking milky white due to glacial silt.

  • Afternoon: Visit the UNESCO Petroglyph Complexes. Photograph ancient rock carvings of ibex and hunters dating back 12,000 years.

  • Stay: Ger camp near the National Park gates.

Day 7: Glacial Landscapes (Potanin Glacier)

  • Full Day: Hike or take a pack-camel trek toward the Potanin Glacier, the longest in Mongolia.

  • Photography: Epic wide-angle shots of the "Holy Five" peaks (including Khuiten Peak, the highest in Mongolia).

  • Stay: Ger camp.

Day 8: Return to Olgii & Local Market

  • Morning: Drive back to Olgii town.

  • Afternoon: Photography at the Local Black Market. Capture the colorful chaos of Kazakh embroidery, felt crafts, and daily trade.

  • Evening: Farewell dinner with local Kazakh musicians playing the Dombra (traditional lute).

  • Stay: Local Hotel in Olgii.

Day 9: Fly Back to Ulaanbaatar

  • Morning: Transfer to Olgii airport for your return flight to UB.

  • Afternoon: Last-minute shopping at the State Department Store or Gobi Cashmere.

  • Evening: Farewell dinner at a fine dining restaurant in UB.
